Connects to everything in your performance rig
One reason the Pioneer DJ Toraiz Squid is such a capable master sequencer is that it’s ready to connect to practically anything in the world of electronic music. Want to use your laptop as a virtual synth rack? Connect the Toraiz Squid via USB and you’re ready to go. Need a sequencer for your hardware synths? Toraiz Squid has a MIDI input and dual MIDI outputs for standard MIDI connectivity. Want to sequence your Eurorack rig or a vintage synth or drum machine? The Toraiz Squid even offers CV/Gate and DIN sync connectivity.
Create never-ending pattern variations with Interpolation
It’s easy to create pattern variations on the fly with the Toraiz Squid controlling your rig. Once you have a basic pattern created, use the Interpolation function to generate a variation of that pattern based on your current settings. It looks at the pitch, gate, and velocity values for the beginning, middle, and end steps of your sequence. It will then automatically fill in the steps in between those steps, generating a new pattern that melds perfectly with the pattern you started from.
Import and export your patterns with Squid Manager software
While the real-time creation capabilities of the Toraiz Squid are impressive, it’s hard to beat a computer when it comes to archiving and categorizing your collection of sequence patterns. Connect your Toraiz Squid to your Mac or PC via USB, and you can use the Squid Manager software to manage your sequences. Squid Manager software is a great way to prepare for a live performance too — you can easily organize your saved patterns for different sets and load the appropriate set before your show.

Key features
Intuitive workflow
Have fun creating phrases by tapping the 16 multicolored LED rubber pads in the Step Edit section. Set step parameters and play live as if the pads were keys on a keyboard. Combine various sequence functions such as Interpolation and Harmonizer to help build your sounds.
Arrange phrases in real time
Rearrange phrases you’ve created in the Step Edit section to craft your ideas the instant they spring to mind. Enhance your sounds with performance features, such as Running Direction, Speed Modulation, and Groove Bend.
Save your “Happy accidents”
The SQUID records performance information in the background so you’ll never lose phrases you create accidentally. When you’re experimenting and hear something you love, use the Time Warp feature to recall and save it as a sequence pattern for your next track.
Connect various instruments
The SQUID has a USB B terminal, MIDI terminals, 2 sets of CV/Gate outputs, and Clock and DIN Sync input/output terminals. This means you can combine the power of your DAW with modern, modular and vintage synths, as well as drum machines. Signals are converted automatically.
Import and export fast
Quickly transfer sequence patterns, projects and Midi clips between the SQUID and your PC or Mac with the SQUID Manager function. Easily import a sequence pattern created on your DAW to the SQUID, instinctively arrange it using the sequencer’s features, and return it to your DAW.
